Shubham Infraport: AI-Powered Container OCR and Gate Automation

shared image

Customer

Shubham Infraport operates a container handling facility at Mundra, Gujarat, moving roughly 3,000 containers a month. The site needed the number, the plate and the panel condition captured at the gate without manual entry.

Project Details

  • Location: Mundra, Gujarat, India
  • Industry: Logistics – container handling facility
  • Status: Implemented
  • Implementation since: January 2026
  • Deployment: On-premise edge
  • Scale: Two gate lanes, one inbound and one outbound, approximately 3,000 containers a month

Technologies:

  • Container OCR, ISO 6346 with check digit validation
  • ANPR
  • Panel damage capture
  • Edge inference
  • Gotilo Container dashboard
problem-img

Problem

Container numbers and vehicle plates were read off the box and written down at the gate, then keyed in afterwards. Errors surfaced days later, in a reconciliation or a dispute.

  • Container numbers transcribed by hand at both lanes
  • Damage recorded as a written note, with no image
  • Errors found only at reconciliation, days after the move
  • Condition disputes had no evidence to settle them
  • Rain, glare and floodlight made accurate reading harder at night
solution-img

Solution

WebOccult deployed Gotilo Container on both gate lanes at Mundra, one inbound and one outbound, running entirely on on-site edge hardware with no cloud dependency. Each truck produces one complete record before the barrier lifts.

  • Reads the ISO 6346 code, the check digit and the vehicle plate in a single pass
  • Captures panel condition with the frame that evidences it
  • Writes one gate record at each lane, with no manual entry at any step
  • Runs through rain, glare and floodlight, day and night
  • Gate staff act only on the reads the system flags, rather than checking every box

Do It Safe, Then Prove It: Insurance-Grade Footage for Yard Safety Compliance

Three months after the incident, the assessor sits across from Meera, the operations manager, and slides a form over the desk. She is ready for questions about helmets, about whether the supervisor was present, about protocol. He asks none of them. He asks one thing instead: show me the footage. Meera’s yard runs safety well. […]

22 vs 30 Moves an Hour: Finding the Hidden 1% Gains in Terminal Productivity

Deepak runs operations at a mid-size terminal, and one number has bothered him for a month. Two ship-to-shore cranes, side by side. Same model, same year, same maintenance schedule. Crews rotate between them every shift. One averages 22 moves an hour. The other averages 30. He sends a maintenance team over the slow one. They […]

Empties Are Inventory, Not Furniture: Smart Empty Container Yard and CFS Management

Pravin has run the empty depot for nine years, and he will tell you he knows every box in it. Then he walks you to the far corner, points at a container furred with dust, a small spider web in the corner casting, and goes quiet. It came in months ago. Nobody remembers the booking. […]
